common questions

Contact FAQs

Are you registered lawyers?

Yes, we are registered legal practitioners. You can verify this on the Law Society of NSW website by searching for "My Migration Lawyers" under "Find a Practice" at lawsociety.com.au/register-of-solicitors.

What happens during a consultation?

We review your situation, explain your options, and give you an honest assessment of your prospects. You'll leave with clarity about your pathways, realistic timelines, and a fee estimate. There's no pressure to proceed.

How quickly will you respond to my enquiry?

We respond to all enquiries within one business day. If your matter is urgent, please call us directly on 1300 040 300 during business hours.

Will you tell me if my case isn't suitable?

Yes. We provide suitability-first advice. If we believe your matter is not suitable to proceed, we will tell you early and clearly. We do not accept matters simply because you are willing to pay.

Do I need to come to your office?

No. We are a digital-first practice. All consultations and meetings are conducted via Zoom, which allows us to serve clients across Australia and internationally. In-person meetings at our Sydney office are available by appointment if preferred.

How are your fees structured?

We charge fixed fees by stage, with each stage linked to specific work and deliverables. You'll know exactly what you're paying for before you commit. Our fee transparency means no surprises.

Can you help if I'm outside Sydney?

Absolutely. We serve clients across Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, regional Australia, and internationally. Our digital-first model means location is no barrier to receiving quality migration legal services.

What is your refund policy?

Our refund policy is provided before you engage. Refunds are handled based on milestones completed, not negotiation. This protects you from arbitrary decisions and gives you clarity about where you stand financially.

What if I just have a quick question?

You're welcome to call us or send a message through this form. For simple questions, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction. For matters requiring specific advice about your situation, we recommend booking a consultation so we can properly assess your circumstances.

How will I receive updates on my matter?

We provide regular updates at defined intervals according to our Service Level Standards Charter. Even during long waiting periods, you'll know your matter is being monitored and what's happening next.

Is there a cost for initial enquiries?

General enquiries via phone, email, or this form are free. If you need specific legal advice about your visa situation, we offer a 45-minute paid consultation for $330, which is credited toward your matter if you decide to engage us.

How do you handle documents securely?

We use professional-grade secure systems with access controls and audit trails. Your sensitive documents, including passports and personal information, are protected. We take cybersecurity seriously as an operational priority.

What is the 2-day cooling-off period?

If you decide to engage us, you'll have a mandatory two-business-day cooling-off period after receiving our engagement documents. This gives you time to review everything carefully, discuss with family, seek independent advice if you wish, and make a confident decision without pressure. You can change your mind during this period without penalty.

What if I have a complaint?

We have a formal complaints handling process. Complaints are acknowledged promptly, reviewed properly, and responded to in writing within defined timeframes. We take concerns seriously and handle them professionally.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer staged payment options that allow you to spread costs across key milestones of your matter. Payment plans are documented clearly in your engagement letter with no hidden fees or interest charges.

Do you support LGBTIQ+ clients?

Yes. We welcome and support LGBTIQ+ clients across all visa categories. We have particular expertise in protection visa matters involving claims based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

What types of visas do you handle?

We specialise in partner visas, protection visas, skilled migration, employer sponsorship, and visa appeals. We handle both straightforward applications and complex matters including refusals, cancellations, and tribunal reviews.

Can you help with urgent matters?

Yes. If you have an urgent deadline or time-sensitive matter, please call us directly on 1300 040 300. We understand that some migration matters require immediate attention and will do our best to assist.
